Kelly Osbourne put her foot in her mouth on today’s episode of The View, and now she’s apologizing for the gaffe.

The horror scene began when she tried to counter Donald Trump’s terrible remarks about Mexicans being rapists and criminals, but inadvertently made a remark which many Latinos found offensive as well.

She stated, “If you kick every Latino out of this country then who is going to be cleaning your toilets, Donald Trump?”

Rosie Perez took her to task, but Osbourne claimed she was trying to make the point that a large segment of the hospitality industry is made up of Latinos–not that ALL Latinos are maids–and that Trump takes them for granted as evidenced by his comments.

But it was too late. The damage was done and the the internet started dragging.

Osbourne eventually took to her Instagram account to apologize, stating:

“I want to start by saying I ALWAYS take responsibility for my actions. In this particular case I will take responsibility for my poor choice of words but I will not apologize for being a racist as I am NOT. I whole-heartedly f—ed up today. I don’t want to bull—t anyone with lame excuses. Although, I was stopped mid-sentence by Rosie and couldn’t finish my point I will not let Rosie take responsibility for my words. I should have known better as I was on The View and it was live. I’ve learned a very valuable lesson. It is my hope that this situation will open up a conversation about immigration and the Latin community as a whole. By the way I clean my own f—ing toilets.”

Remember, it’s alleged that Kelly Osbourne quit Fashion Police over her disappointment in Giuliana Ranic’s patchouli statement about Zendaya’s faux locs. Despite the gravity of her ignorant comment, I really think this was a situation where her statement came out the wrong way and that she genuinely didn’t mean to offend anyone.

Rosie Perez even tweeted her forgiveness:

What do you think? Was Kelly’s apology sufficient?
