He Said/She Said is an original series on HelloBeautiful where we ask celebrities who are brave enough stop by our office, to answer questions about love, dating or sex and they’re brutally honest.

Scoring an interview with Kenya Moore is like striking gold. So when she called us up to gab about everything from RHOA to landing a man from the show Millionaire Matchmaker (at the time of the interview, it wasn’t known that Kenya’s man was married), we had to pick up the phone and she did not disappoint.

We also got the chance to chat with Deion Sanders, who we love more and more each time he stops by. He’s the consummate husband, father and support system. Asking him the same things we asked Kenya proved to be a hilarious good time. Check out what Deion and Kenya have to say about dating outside their race, dating over 40 and what it takes to meet the one.

What’s the best thing about dating outside of your race?

Kenya Moore: For Black women, we just have to be open because there’s not a lot of eligible bachelors, that are Black, for us to choose from anymore. If you take away the ones that are gay, in jail, this is a real issue. Statistics show why we don’t have the choices. You take the ones that are gay, in jail, don’t have a job, the ones that are already married and the ones that are dating and marrying outside our race, what do you have left? You don’t have much to choose from. The nicest thing is that you have options.

Deion Sanders: I don’t do that! I got Tracey. I’m straight!

What are some advantages in being single over 30/40?

KM: I think you know who you are at 40. Women over 40 are the baddest women on the planet. Really, we are. You own who you are, you have so much confidence. You’re in a place where you have a career, you have a place, you have money, at this point you should be successful. You’ve learned patience. You know what works for you. I think it’s the best time in a man or woman’s life to get married. The divorce rate is much lower because you know who you are and what you bring to the table.

DS: You know yourself, you know what you want and you have the whole world to go get it. You’re too old for games. You ain’t got time for it.

Do you think that using unconventional ways of meeting someone–like online, “Millionaire Matchmaker,” etc. work better than traditional dating?

KM: I remember very clearly in my 20s, I had a roommate that met someone online and I remember how taboo it was. “You did what?! You met someone where?! You’re going to go out on a date with somebody you met online!?” It was just so shocking that we felt that this person was putting herself in danger to meet a serial killer and now it’s just completely the opposite. It’s more efficient. You can quickly discern what you like and what you don’t. You just have far more options and I think Internet dating, matchmaking services, the less conventional ways back in the day are just a thing of the past. Now, it’s for more effective to open and broaden your horizons as to what options you have out there for dating. I 100% think that online dating, match maker services in addition to your friends and conventional ways of meeting people is absolutely acceptable now.

DS: I don’t really like the unconventional ways, but I have heard that it works for some people. I want to talk to you. I don’t want to text you. I want to get to know you. Then I want three references. Give me your momma number, you last boyfriend that you fell out with and somebody that don’t like you so I can find out all about you.
