Joan Smalls has landed the cover for Vogue’s September issue, the fashion world’s most highly anticipated magazine!

The model is sharing the honor with about eight other models, but she’s prominently featured on the main cover alongside Cara Delevingne and Karlie Kloss.

“The fashion bible has arrived! We’re delighted to be a part of the September issue of @voguemagazine. #septemberissue #vogue #northparkcenter”

According to Fashionista.com, six other models will be seen in the fold out, including two other models of color. With Arizona Muse, Edie Campbell, Imaan Hammam, Fei Fei Sun, Vanessa Axente and Andreea Diaconu on the cover, it seems that Vogue is definitely going for a more diverse look while returning to tradition by featuring models instead of other celebrities.

Last year, Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence posed for the front of Vogue’s September issue, and Lady Gaga was the cover girl for 2012.

The September 2014 issue is not Joan’s fist time gracing the cover of Vogue! Aside from her Vogue Italia cover in March 2012, she’s been on Vogue covers about five more times. Less than a year later she was featured on Vogue Brasil’s January 2013 issue.

It’s not the Lupita Nyong’o cover many had dreamed of, but Joan still slays. We’ll take it, Vogue!
