Never have I ever seen a drink thrown with such accuracy and precision as I did last night. Normally it’s a martini glass or what’s last of the watered down Ciroc you didn’t swallow, but on the premiere episode of “Love & Hip Hop New York,” Joe Budden’s ex-girlfriend/ current love interest, Tahiry launched a tall glass of liquid straight across the table and into the face of Raqi Thunda who, more importantly, deserved every sip of it! But this isn’t about Raqi or her blatant infatuation with “Joey” as they like to call him, it’s about Tahiry.
After one hour of the third season of TV’s best show on earth, two things are clear: Joe Budden is dangerously charming and Tahiry is the standout cast member. She’s pretty, emotional and thicker than a snicker! And no subtitles needed, she speaks fluid English (still love you Joseline).
As I watched the debut of “L&HH” along with the cast, I noticed their dynamic and the looming tension between the right and left sides of the couch which was separated by a seemingly neutral Consequence and his girlfriend “Jen The Pen.” Joey, his girlfriend who never uttered even a whimper or disappointed sigh as she watched her boyfriend admit to still loving his ex, Tahiry and Erica Mena kept their side of the sofa turned up.
I came to respect Tahiry much more after the show after seeing that she has a job as a waitress and doesn’t depend on her looks to get by in life. And from the opening scene, we can tell she is as real as the chick down the block in your hood. Even though Joey is involved, he can’t stand to have Tahiry out of his life and I see why. She’s a ride-or-die chick and if you know me, I love a down a** woman!
