It’s a week of wedding planning advice for the newly engaged! If you’re one of those brides, we’ve created a blueprint for your first few steps.
To review, we’ve covered budget, guest list, wedding planner and venue. Now, it’s time to focus on a super-important element of your wedding….photography.
There’s a reason I suggest you book a photographer so early in the wedding planning process. The good photographers get booked FAST. And that photographer can’t do six weddings in a day like a cake baker or a florist can. So, you need to identify the photographer you want and sign a contract before they get snatched up.
Now, this is an area where lots of brides try to shave off a few bucks by hiring a friend or someone on Craigslist. This is fine IF that person is a professional photographer, has an amazing reputation and incredible equipment. And, of course, they must be talented. But someone who just got the newest digital camera from Best Buy isn’t necessarily going to give you what you want.
Remember that this is one of the most important days of your life and probably one of the biggest parties you will ever throw. It’s important to have a professional capture the details of the day. A professional has tons of equipment to balance light and shadow.
