Diddy Goes Green With Pop-Up Sean John Stores
Sean “Diddy” Combs might possibly be taking the urban-wear market in a different direction with a new green initiative aimed at his temporary Sean John stores.
Diddy is opening a series of new environmentally friendly, temporary Sean John stores. According to WWD,
Coinciding with the lead-up to the Super Bowl, Sean John opened its first pop-up store this past weekend in Miami Beach. Located at 640 Collins Avenue, the 2,500-square-foot shop will be open through most of February. The shop was built using recycled materials, including in-store fixtures fashioned from packaging used to ship goods to the store. An installation of furniture made from eco-friendly materials from Miami’s Eastern District gallery will be on display. “This concept is new for us at Sean John, but it is the first of many sustainable, green pop-up stores we will be building,” said Dawn Robertson, president of Sean John.
While this is definitely an honorable gesture, we hope that Sean John will make its green initiative more permanent, applying the concept to its flagship stores and eventually to the actual clothing.
