Jill Scott Lands New TV Role
Singer Jill Scott , who was most recently seen in the HBO original series “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency,” has signed on to star in the Lifetime telepic “Sins of the Mother.” The film features Jill as a recovering alcoholic trying to mend fences with the adult daughter she abused as a child. “Sins of the Mother” is based on the novel Orange Mint and Honey by Carleen Brice. The movie will debut on the Lifetime Movie Network in 2010. Jill Scott will also return to the big screen in 2010 in Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married, Too? Her HBO series, The Number One Ladies’ Detective Agency, is on hiatus right now.
