Looks From The Houston Rodeo That Have Us Screaming Yeehaw

Black women hit the Houston Rodeo, rocking bedazzled boots, liquid leathers, and sexy corsets. They showed off their style by paying homage to the rodeo lifestyle that is integral to the Western heritage deeply celebrated in Texas culture. The 2025 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo brings over two million attendees. This makes it the perfect venue for Black women to flex their fashion skills. The rodeo aesthetic has been rising in mainstream culture over the past decade. Artists like Megan Thee Stallion and KenTheMan have popularized the visual aesthetic of the yeehaw agenda. Filmmakers like Jeymes Samuel have tapped into it as well.

Attendees at the Houston rodeo have the chance to enjoy a variety of entertainment options. This includes traditional competitions lik “bareback riding, bull riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, tie-down roping,” and other rodeo attractions. It also features a carnival full of family-friendly attractions like ferris wheels, carousel rides, haunted mansions, merry-go-rounds, petting zoos, birthing centers, and beehives. We love ogling the fun prints, oversized belts, and metallic boots Black women wear to the R&B brunches, concerts, and other events at the rodeo. Proceeds from the rodeo aid in supporting the “youth of Texas and education.” This makes it an even better place to rock a new fit. See some fashionable looks we loved from the 2025 Houston Rodeo below.

1. Butter Soft Baddie

Content Christiana Moore popped out in a sexy cognac colored halter top. She paired it with a pair of hip-hugging jeans. The top’s lacing crossed down her midsection and connected at her navel. 

2. Fringe Fantasy

Tiktoker Niya popped out in a beautiful fringe jacket that screamed Western chic. She smartly wore a clean white corset underneath. Her Black bust-down, cowboy hat, and chain accentuated it perfectly. The icing on the cake was her gleaming tooth gems. 

3. The Red Wave

Tiktoker Daliah B. popped out in a long sleeved black leather jumpsuit. Her accessories were all the same shade of red. Her red cowboy boots sparkled and her red hat popped. But it was the rhinestone encrusted big buckled belt that took the look to the next level. Everything played well with her honey shade of “bronde.”

4. In Vested

Customized cowboy hats are huge on the rodeo scene. Creator Oksana Stewart wore a monogrammed one with a denim vest set. The modern silhouette of the vest kept things modern. She added red beads anchored by an oversized cross with a lone star in the center. Boho braids, a red lip, and knee-high red boots finished the package.

5. Chocolate Cowgirl

Tomeka Renee wore an adorable chocolate leather short set with a tan pair of over-the-knee boots. She pulled her hair back and slicked the edges down so we could focus on her enviable face card. A tiny cross-body Louis Vuitton bag helped her stay hands free. 

6. Pink Perfection

Author and gospel singer Shamone Lamarra stepped out in the cutest pink look! She rocked bubble gum pink cowboy boots with a glowy sheen with a button up short in the same shade. She kept things youthful by knotting the shirt at her waist. A trimmed brim, silver buckled belt and a quilted crossbody finished her outfit off. 

7. Robed and Ready

Leave it to a celebrity stylist to go for the most unexpected choice. A duster improves most looks but you rarely see one in denim! Jacci Jackson wore one with distressed denim shorts a white hat, bag, and boots. 

8. Sheer Style

Sloane Ivy suited up for the rodeo’s Black Heritage Committee Gala in a beautiful black lace suit. It was the perfect Western black tie option.
