Joan Smalls has landed an Estee Lauder contract, making her one of the few models of color to ever do so. And we called it! Back in April, we featured up-and-coming model Joan Smalls as a “Fresh Faces” feature, and told you to look out for her forthcoming success.

We followed her as she appeared in Gucci campaigns, covered magazines, and walked runways alongside Beyonce.
And now, sure enough, the Black and Puerto Rican, 21-year-old, 5’10” stunner has landed a contract with Estee Lauder.
Aerin Lauder, senior vice president and creative director, praised her saying, “Joan’s smile, warmth and positive energy are perfect for the Estée Lauder brand. She is a great addition to our global faces.”
Joan joins model Liya Kebede as one of Estee’s few spokespersons of color.
