4 Times Riley Burruss Schooled Her ‘Next Gen NYC’ Castmates On Their Microaggressions And Priviledge

Bravo’s latest reality series, Next Gen NYC, featuring the offspring of some of the network’s biggest stars, has already had its fair share of conflict and callouts—Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Riley Burruss makes it clear every episode that she has no problem gathering her castmates when they get out of line.
Although the first season of the show is currently still airing, Burruss has already demonstrated on multiple occasions that the behavior of some of her castmates has resulted in them earning a fierce side-eye and an equally shady response.
White Privilege
Most recently, the celebrity daughter of Kandi Burruss schooled her Next Gen NYC co-star Georgia McCann on privilege because she didn’t seem to understand the concept. “The definition of privilege is basically you have it better than other people,” Riley explained. Despite breaking it down in layman’s terms and the calmest voice, McCann accused her of being aggressive, which was another demonstration of the cast’s microaggressions against only one of two Black girls on the show.
Here are three times so far this season that Riley schooled her Next Gen NYC castmates:
Calling Out Skipping Handwashing

In the series’ premiere episode, Burruss didn’t hold back when she let it be known how she felt about fellow cast member Georgia McCann not washing her hands after using the restroom—and then having the audacity to attempt to touch her immediately after.
“Girl, you don’t wash your hands?!” Burruss asked in horror, as McCann offered the stunning reply. “I don’t really believe in that. I’m pro-germ.” When Burruss asked her for clarification to make sure that she was serious, McCann told her “I’m dead a–-! I was like the kid in New York City eating candy off the sidewalk.”
For the remainder of the episode (and likely for the foreseeable future) Burruss has kept the touching between herself and McCann to a minimum.
Calling Out Racist Microaggressions

As one of the few Black cast members on the show, it was only a matter of time before racial stereotypes came into play at her expense. During the June 17 episode, Burruss was targeted by cast member Charlie Zakkour who tried to stamp the angry Black woman label on her by alleging that she was mean and rude to his white female friends, however flashback footage showed that it never happened.
“I’m just so mad because every single time y’all do this,” she said standing up for herself through tears. “And I try not to make it a thing, but I hate when you try to play this thing like I’m scary or like I’m scaring a random white girl. It’s a real thing I have to go through everyday…I’m nice to everybody. Your girls were rude. If you’re around people, you should introduce yourself.”
Calling Out Being Labeled for Her Behavior While Drinking

Once again, Burruss was the subject of conversation and pounced upon during a group outing. This time it involved Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Gia Guidice, who decided to label Burruss as “nasty” and “rough” in her delivery when she’s drinking—no one else seems to comment on other castmates’ delivery or comments to each other.
“I definitely think that somehow that no matter what I do, Gia seems to have an issue with me,” Burruss said, as a previous clip of Guidice criticizing her was played. Guidice went on to state that Burruss flips when she is drinking, which prompted Burruss to leave the table and tell her, “Why the f—k would you say that?”
