Angela Bassett Owns 'Mission: Impossible' Red Carpet
Angela Bassett Owns ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ Red Carpet In Power Suit

Angela Bassett, 66, was drenched in confidence, glamour, and unapologetic style on Monday night in New York City. The legendary actress lit up the red carpet on May 19 at Lincoln Center for the New York premiere of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning—and let’s just say, impossible was not a word in her fashion vocabulary.
Bassett, who stars as the fictional U.S. President Erika Sloane in the action-packed blockbuster, turned heads in a show-stopping emerald green suit by British designer Ozwald Boateng. The rich texture and tailored silhouette brought a regal edge to the evening, perfectly aligned with her power-player role in the film.
She paired the bold suit with chunky, wide-framed black sunglasses—also by Boateng—adding an effortlessly cool, fashion-forward touch to the look. Her accessories kept the energy luxe: a sparkling clutch designed to look like a stack of cash, made courtesy of Judith Leiber NY, along with statement jewels by David Webb. Bassett tied the look together with sleek black heels from Kurt Geiger that grounded the outfit with poise.
With help from trusted celebrity stylist Jennifer Austin, Bassett didn’t just walk the red carpet—she owned it.

Bassett is no stranger to the Mission: Impossible universe.
The Oscar-nominated actress made her franchise debut in 2018’s Fallout, portraying Erika Sloane, then the head of the CIA. Now, in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (hitting theaters May 23), Bassett returns in an even more commanding role, this time as President of the United States, facing off against a high-stakes A.I. threat.
Speaking to People in an interview published May 16, Bassett reflected on her evolving role within the franchise, describing herself as an instrument, “a part of an orchestra,” and a key player in the larger cinematic symphony that drives the action-packed series. She also shared her excitement about how the stunts have reached new heights in this latest installment.
“It’s thrilling, the stuff that they do,” the Hollywood vet shared. “It’s just mind-blowing.”
Sadly, you won’t see Bassett doing any death-defying stunts in the upcoming film.
“I definitely don’t have FOMO [fear of missing out],” she joked. “My only stunt is walking.”
