Since the BET Awards I have been flooded by questions of how I get my clients to have youthful glowing skin. Achieving glowing skin through skin care is one secret and all of my clients maintain great skin care habits that work for them. There is not one system that is the ultimate and absolute best for everyone. Just like a doctor prescribes different things to different patients due to different needs, its the same for skin care.
There are great sites like neutrogena.com, marykay.com and olay.com that give free skin care analysis and suggest the basic needs to get skin balanced. Many people have dry skin even though we believe because we may be oily in the T zone areas that we are oily. I find many clients to be on the dehydrated side due to lack of water or proper hydration.
I love tinted moisturizers because they are the multi-taskers. They give light weight coverage, provide SPF and give a glow. My favorite is Mary Kay Tinted Mositurizer. It has a super creamy texture which is light, but still evens out complexions. A great trick is to use your favorite moisturizer mixed with tinted moisturizer to get that perfect glow.
Another great and easy tip is after you finish your makeup spray Thermale Avene’ Spray mist or Evian Spray mist. It sets your makeup and creates that dewy healthy glow.
Keep makeup warm using Apricot, peaches, pinky-corals, corals, golds, bronzes to keep the warm glow feel of your makeup all over. Also, using bold colors like seafoam green or turqoise are great ways to pop sunkissed skin. I like adding a bit of bold color using pencils like Styli Style or Tigi Bedhead Big Fat Fun Eye Liners, both liners come in great colors like blue, green or purple. Using color pencils by the lower lash line is a fun way to get eyes popping and keep the radiant glow vibe going.
Tools are important, so make sure you toss old wedge sponges, puffs and replace weekly so your not recycling bacteria on your face. Invest in good brushes they make the difference too. I love Paula Dorf and Smashbox Brushes.
