This year, home for the holidays takes on a new meaning as our usual family festivities have been greatly reduced to virtual meetings and gatherings under 10 people. Whether you’re flying out to be with family or celebrating from your living room, you should take the time to get as glam as you would as if it were any other year. Listen, we’ve been in the house the last few months and can use an excuse to break out a new dress and banging makeup even if it’s in the house.
We got your covered! Check out this DIY tutorial by our resident MUA Anika Stewart that will take your living room lewk up several notches.
A fabulous beat face starts with a blank palette so we suggest you begin your glam living room look with a freshly washed and moisturized face.
Apply an even layer of foundation using your favorite makeup brush or sponge. Our resident makeup expert Anika Stewart’s choice of foundation is Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, which comes in 50 shades.
Apply a full coverage concealer underneath your eye, the bridge of your nose and cheek bones; then blend using a makeup tool. Use your foundation to blend out any hard edges.
For added drama, add a liquid or cream contour. Blend, blend, blend. Try this concealer by The Lip Bar.
Allow your foundation, concealer and contour bake using a pressed powder. Beauty enthusiast swear by Laura Mercier’s Translucent Loose Setting Powder.
Use a bronzer around the perimeter of your face to accentuate your melanin and add a natural glow. Blend, blend, blend! Use a big brush to fluff away any harsh lines.
Add blush from Mented Cosmetics to step up the glam of this look.
Tip: Add blush to your eyes for a pop of color!
At this point, you’re probably asking yourself where’s the highlighter? It’s time to bring the shine and we can’t think of any high-voltage highlighter from radiant than Fenty Beauty’s Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil.
Use a brow gel to brush your brows into shape. Add in a brow pencil for extra definition. Define your eye with a deep chocolate shade from your favorite palette.
Line your eyes with a liner (pencil or liquid). Complete your look with a longwear lip!
