Aloft Hotels is upping its hotel game experience. The hotel chain has been known for their love of music and most recently partnered with Universal Music Group to launch a contest to find and help a talented musician. This contest, called Project Aloft Star is being powered by a five-city tour with several UMG artists.

While in New Orleans, I had the opportunity to not only stay at the Aloft Hotel, but also to experience this concert with Tank & the Bangas. The entire lobby was created into a mini-concert scene. There was a place to take photos, to get screen print t-shirts, drinks, food, and more. In short, it was an awesome, intimate concert that I just had to travel 8 floors down from my room to experience. There was even a meet and greet since I am a Marriott Rewards Member!

As if this wasn’t enough, Aloft is also doing something cool called Marriott Moments. You go on the site and in the city which you are staying, you can book experiences through Marriott. Think of it as if someone was pre-planning your trip for you and giving you all the best places to visit. They also have travel experts sharing travel tips and more. I booked two experiences while I was in NOLA including a cooking class that taught me how to make authentic New Orleans’ food and a segway tour which had me gliding through the NOLA streets and learning more about the history around me. There are experiences at all price points, so I appreciate the affordability for families.

I’m really digging that the Aloft Hotel is taking the initiative to up the travel experience for travelistas beyond just giving us a place to rest our head at night. Have you stayed in an Aloft Hotel recently? Share your experience in the comments below!
