Issa

In season one’s finale perfectly titled “Broken As F**k,”Issa (Issa Rae) was on a mission to repair the two relationships she cherished the most. First, Issa and her best friend Molly (Yvonne Orji) were at odds over Issa’s comments about her tragic love life and her lack of self-awareness.

Second, Lawrence (Jay Ellis) did what Issa couldn’t do all season and ended the relationship due to Issa “scratching an itch” with Daniel (Y’lan Noel).

Issa managed to make things right with Molly while bonding during a car ride to take her back to her apartment to speak with Lawrence, hoping to make things right. Issa’s eagerness was fueled from a telephone conversation with Lawrence where he made it appeared that he was willing to work things out.

Lawrence returns back to the apartment with Issa following behind him. As Issa walks in and sees his keys on the counter, she smiles. But we quickly learn that Lawrence only returned to pack up his belongings, drop off his keys and leave behind his Best Buy shirt.

With her heartbroken into a million pieces, Issa heads out to the “bouch” and is joined by Molly and the tears just start flowing.

Meanwhile, Lawrence is on the other side of town giving that good loving to Tasha (DomiNque Perry).

Season 2 will be a learning experience for Issa as she tackles with her unwanted new-found freedom and the dating world.  Luckily for her, she wont be alone as she will have Molly right by her side.

While Issa will be in her “hoe phase” and out testing the waters, she’s still trying to get back Lawrence who isn’t really feeling it.

PREDICTION: We think Daniel will give her temporary relief when it comes to companionship, but she won’t be able to get over those old Lawrence feelings.

Season 2 will just be a roller coaster of emotions as these two tussle with their feelings and wonder if they are thinking about each other. In the end, we see a future together for Issa and Lawrence.

SPOILER: This Is Us star Sterling K Brown has his eyes on Issa this season! Will she return those feelings?
