“Being Black” is more than just the socially constructed race you are assigned. In many ways, Blackness exists alongside culture. If you travel, then it becomes quite clear that while Blackness is diverse and so are the cultures it operates within, there are also some similarities that almost all Black people can relate to, regardless of which “Black” they are.
