Politics is not easy. And it’s especially not easy when you’ve been around long enough for everyone to know every last detail about you. This, many have suggested, will be one of the struggles Hillary Clinton faces in her bid for the Democratic nomination for the presidential election of 2016. In the latest breaking news, CNN reports that on October 22, 2015, Clinton will face a committee selected by the House to investigate the attacks that took place in the Libyan city at the American consulate on September 11, 2012.

The attack resulted in the deaths of four Americans including the Ambassador of the consulate. Clinton was forced to take responsibility as the Secretary of State at the time, especially when it was made public  that earlier requests for additional security at the consulate were denied.

Yesterday, Clinton accepted an invitation to the committee – which will be a public hearing. The committee however, is being led by Republicans. Many Clinton supporters believe that this panel will be used to stifle Clinton’s presidential campaign. Moreover, some of Clinton’s emails will have to be made public, although they will also have to undergo intricate review because they contain classified information.

Whether or not this is being used as a tool of the Republic party – you can decide for yourself. But one gets the sense that either Clinton will come out looking presidential from this panel, or it will be the incident that sees her presidential dreams become a nightmare.
