We’re not surprised, right?
According to The Daily Beast, the officer who slammed a Black teenage girl to the ground and pulled his gun on other teens at a pool party in McKinney, TX, was previously sued for excessive force and racial animus. Racial animus is racially motivated hostility.
In 2008, a Black man sued David Eric Casebolt, the officer from the pool party, and two other McKinney cops in federal civil court for violating his civil rights. The man alleged that Casebolt reached into his pants and then pulled them down to search for drugs. The other officers allegedly shined a flashlight in the man’s anus after repeatedly slamming his face into the hood of a car. It was also alleged that Casebolt made remarks about White girls being spotted hanging out with a dope dealer. However, Brown’s case was dismissed the following year.
Officer David Eric Casebolt was put on leave Monday after the video of his antics surfaced Sunday. We’ll see how this plays out because, clearly 2015 has been playing out more like 1960.
