Zendaya Coleman’s Dad Speaks Out
It came as a shocker to us all when Disney star Zendaya Coleman announced that she would no longer be playing the role of Aaliyah in the Lifetime biopic “Aaliyah: Princess Of R&B.” We know what you’re thinking…and Zendaya didn’t pull out the project because fans didn’t think she was “black enough” to play Baby Girl, but because of production issues, her father said on Twitter:
Production for the film is currently on hold and we think it may have to do with getting the rights and clearances to use Aaliyah’s music. Since Aaliyah’s family was against the project from the beginning, we’re sure they won’t be too upset that the story won’t be coming to a TV screen near us.
