Aaliyah Biopic Includes Marriage To R. Kelly
This could be another reason Aaliyah’s family is not here for their daughter’s Lifetime biopic starring Zendaya Coleman.
According to Page Six, the film will include details on Aaliyah and R.Kelly’s controversial marriage. If you remember, Aaliyah was 15 when she married then 27-year-old R.Kelly in 1994, but it was later annulled by her parents. This is a bold move for Lifetime, considering that the family is already not here for Zendaya being casted — a few of other celebs, like Teyana Taylor, auditioned for the role, by the way — and Lifetime is still moving along with plans without a relative having a say in Aaliyah’s story.
It’s going to be interesting to see how this movie turns out in the end.
