President Obama’s Rose Garden address on the Affordable Care Act was supposed to be an update on what’s happening with the site and the insurance’s implementation, however, it turned into a customer service call of sorts, starring our handsome POTUS. Obama stood there, sounding just like a customer service rep, often offering kind words that sounded amazing strung together, but he ended not offering any real fixes, just telling us what the site will be like once it actually is running. This was Obama’s first healthcare event since problems with signing up for Obamacare became more widespread.

“You’ve probably heard that Healthcare.gov, the new website where people can apply for health insurance and browse and buy affordable plans in most states, hasn’t worked as smoothly as it was supposed to work,” Obama said.

Many media outlets and critics of Obamacare will tell you that Obama’s statement is an understatement because the site doesn’t really work at all. And what President Obama’s speech exposed was that Obamacare is more than a law, it’s a website. So what happens when the site’s not working–does that mean the law is also not working?

Washington Post is reporting that when the White House defined what it would mean for the Affordable Care Act to be a success, that definition ran right through the website–a site our president knows needs to be fixed. “We’ve had some of the best IT talent in the entire country join the team,” he promised. “And we’re well into a tech surge to fix the problem. And we are confident that we will get all the problems fixed.”

Sounds like a customer service call to me. Guess who else isn’t feeling it? This pregnant woman who stood behind President Obama during his speech, who practically passed out. Obama claims, this often happens when he “takes too long.” Well, folks think our president is taking too long to fix Obamacare’s technical difficulties. Do you agree?

Are you signing up for Obamacare?
