Believe it or not, even in this time of financial uncertainty, some of you may be facing a very stressful decision as it relates to employment. If you are one of the lucky ones who is not only employed on a full time basis, but also presented with two possible job offers on top of that, then, in my humble opinion, you have hit the jackpot. Though this is a time to celebrate, it is also a time to make an informed, well thought out and subjectively appropriate decision about your next move.

Here are three important considerations to take into account when determining which direction you may want to go:
1) Be Honest.
One thing you do not want to do is burn any bridges with your current employer or potential future employers. While you are considering one job offer with a potential employer, be honest with the others you are either interviewing with or contemplating accepting an offer from. This way all parties are apprised of what is going on. Additionally, the fact that you are a highly sought after candidate may serve as a great negotiation tool on your behalf.
2) Ask For Time.
If you know up front that there are a couple of offers on the table, or there is a high probability that you will receive another offer from a different company, just ask for time to make your decision on the solid offer that is on the table. It has been suggested that you email or call the hiring manager directly (especially if you have been dealing with an agency that is seeking to place you) and inform her/him that you need until a certain date to weigh all of your options before making a final decision. Additionally, inform the second potential employer you are interviewing with that you have a solid job offer on the table. This way they may be more inclined to speeding up the decision making process, especially if you are a viable candidate.
3) Do Not Entertain a Counter Offer from Your Current Employer.
There is a reason you are seeking employment elsewhere and, 9 times out of 10, no amount of money will fill the gap of what is missing in your career from your current employer. Go for the new opportunities with confidence that it will be better and more fulfilling.
