2. Death Becomes Her

This 1992 dark comedy is a campy walk through the lives of two frenemies who after spending years obsessively trying to sabotage each other end up drinking a magic syrum that offers them eternal live and youthful beauty. Of course things go horribly wrong and Helen (Goldie Hawn) and Madaline (Meryl Streep) end up stuck with each other forever. (104 min., PG-13)

 3. Beaches

Upon a chance meeting as children at an Atlantic City resort, a rich debutant and a child performer embark on a life long friendship that leads them through career up’s and down’s, divorces and childbirth. This 1988 movie is the ultimate girl power movie. Though a major tear jerker, Beaches is a refreshing glimpse at a supportive and meaningful female bond. (123 min.,  PG-13)
