After weeks of poking fun at Drake’s nostalgic Dada wear, the retired clothing line finally made its highly anticipated video debut in his “No New Friends” visuals. Drizzy’s “day one” dudes/ industry friends (presuming he means, the people he met on the come up)–DJ Khaled, Lil Wayne, Birdman and Rick Ross–appear alongside the “Started From The Bottom” rapper, who tries to convince us that his crew hasn’t changed since the 90s. I’m not going to be a stickler about dates and such–I think the video is for entertainment purposes only, but I will note that in May of ’96, Drake was actually 10-years-old and nowhere near a jacuzzi with Black women waiting to feel on his “chesticles.”

Still, “No New Friends” captures that old school, 2 Pac “I Get Around” feel. Besides, there’s enough scantily clad women to keep your eyes focused away from the 1996 reference. And Drake, in his old school Timberland boots and baggy wear is actually quite cute (if you’re a fan like me)…
