Sadly, we’ve come to the end of this season of the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” and our favorite Georgia peaches brought the drama one last time. Kenya was planning her big “coming out party” as a tribute to African American actors and filmmakers in history, Porsha and Kordell were still going through marital woes and Phaedra was busy working on yet another business venture which she liked to call, “Phaedra Sparks.”
Check out the recap below.
“Phaedra Sparks”
I’m not sure if Phaedra was bored with her pet funeral business, being a lawyer and her work out video, but nonetheless, she decided that she would embark on a new business venture. She decided that she would get into the female toy business but not the “Bedroom Kandi” kind. She came up with the idea to produce a stun gun product line for women and decided to call this one “Phaedra Sparks”. She decided that she would test out her new product on Kandi since Kandi was a pro in marketing and selling women’s toys even though Kandi’s toy line was for pleasure and Phaedra’s toy line was for pain.
Porsha & Kordell’s Marital Issues
Porsha and Kordell’s marriage was on the rocks and Porsha decided that she and Kordell should attend therapy together so Porsha could express some of her feelings about her miscarriage and wanting to get pregnant again to her husband. The couple paid another visit to Dr. Sherry and brought up the battle she was fighting with Kordell about having a career and being a mother at the same time. Kordell didn’t want Porsha to have a career and be a mother despite Dr. Sherry’s statements that a lot of women were capable of being a working mother and raising successful children. Kordell gave Porsha an ultimatum and told her that she had to either choose her career or having a child and doing both wasn’t an option. Porsha knew that this disagreement couldn’t go on forever and considering that Kordell filed for divorce last week, we all know how this argument eventually ended.

Porsha as “B.A.P.S”
It was time to prepare for Kenya’s big “coming out party.” Keyna assigned all of the ladies a specific Hollywood icon to dress as during the party for her special presentation. Everyone was happy about the character they would portray except for Porsha who was told to dress as Halle Berry from the movie “B.A.P.S”. Porsha thought Kenya was trying to insult her secretly by giving her such a “ghetto fabulous” character to dress as during the party. Let’s face it, Halle Berry in “B.A.P.S” isn’t exactly what you would call “iconic” but Kenya insisted that she was being sincere and wanted everyone to dress in a specific way for a reason- even though she said that the character fit Porsha perfectly since she was rough around the edges and not so polished. Since Porsha felt quite silly when she tried on different “B.A.P.S” inspired outfits, she decided that she would come to the party dressed as another Halle Berry character instead: Dorothy Dandridge.
Kenya’s “Coming Out Party”
Finally, it was time for Kenya’s big party. All of the ladies arrived in their Hollywood inspired outfits: Kenya as Foxy Brown, Kandi as Tina Turner, Cynthia as Diana Ross in Mahogany, Phaedra as Eartha Kit and Porsha as Dorothy Dandrige. When Kenya saw that Porsha came as Dorothy Dandridge and not Halle Berry from “B.A.P.S” she was furious- never mind the fact that Porsha is a grown woman and could come dressed however she pleased. Kenya confronted Porsha and told her that she was upset that she changed her costume without notifying her because it threw off the skit portion of the party. Porsha told Kenya that she was not going to fall for her trap again and Kenya had Porsha and Kordell escorted out. When the other girls got word that Kenya was kicking Porsha out of the party, they collectively decided to leave the party because they knew that Kenya was going too far, again. Cynthia called Nene on the phone to tell her about the drama that just went down and Nene said that Kenya was being mean and spiteful and wanted to have a few words with her when she got there. Kenya came outside and explained when she kicked Porsha out and Kordell jumped in the argument attempting to stand up for his wife. After a lot of arguing, threats and forcing Kenya to apologize, everyone returned back into the party and tried to have a good time. Once Nene finally arrived at the party, she pulled Kenya to the side and told her that she was taking things too far, again, and that as women they needed to act together as one. It looked like all was well in Atlanta, as least until next week’s reunion special.
