While many beauty companies claim to have the answer to what you call your “way too shiny complexion” dilemma, Neutrogena has successfully created a miracle product that helps control that ’shine,’ and works better than any other product I’ve used in the past.

My gig as a beauty blogger has led me to Neutrogena’s Shine Control Primer ($12.99, neutrogena.com). It was especially fitting that I received this product for testing because I wanted a product to control my shine throughout the day – a constant battle for so many of us. Always one to question, I wondered after reading the product claim if it would actually work. The claims reads:

The morning after I received the product, I made sure to include Shine Control in my morning makeup prep and hoped for the best. At best, I hoped that I wouldn’t see the shine of my oily skin to peeking through my makeup within minutes of my applying it which has been the norm for years.
As I applied Shine Control after my moisturizer, I paid close attention to the texture of the formula and how my skin looked once it was fully applied. Surprisingly, the formula seemed to evaporate into my skin [absorbing any excess oil] and left a matte finish as the claim mentioned.
After an hour, I fully expected to look in a mirror and I’d be needing blotting paper to calm down the shine again, but I was completely wrong because my reflection showed a healthy glow rather than a hot, greasy messy! I kept checking my face throughout the day and I’d still see the same healthy glow and by then, had come to the conclusion that I’d found a gem. Just do me a favor Neutrogena…never ever discontinue this product because you’ll forever have a customer in me.
