Aaliyah Posthumous Album Cover Art Released Plus 10 Gifs To Remember
Aaliyah’s Posthumous Album Cover Revealed, Plus A Walk Down Memory Lane [GIFS]
Finally we have confirmation! Barry Hankerson, (the late Aaliyah’s uncle and the man behind Blackground Records), recently tweeted That Grape Juice naming Drake and 40 as the producers working on Aaliyah’s posthumous album. Despite Aaliyah’s family vocally denying any involvement with music after her death, Aaliyah’s uncle confirmed the album is, in fact, happening. Here’s his tweet:

Well, enough said–Drake’s going to be working on the album; Missy Elliott and Timbaland won’t be. At least Missy’s working on some new tunes for herself. But I digress. Hankerson also shared the cover art for the forthcoming album (pictured above). The ethereal image evokes memories of Aaliyah’s angelic legacy. It automatically takes me back to watching the R&B darling swim through the crystal blue waters and contort her hips and fit midsection to and ‘fro in her final video “Rock The Boat.”
