MTV VMA Nominations 2012: Rihanna & Drake Lead The Pack With 5 Nominations
Rihanna & Drake Lead 2012 MTV VMA Nominations
The 2012 MTV VMA nominations are in and Rihanna and Drake lead the pack with 5 nods each. The nominations were officially announced this morning, and Rihanna is up for Video of The Year, in which she has two chances to win with “We Found Love” and her Drake duet “Take Care”, as well as Best Pop Video and Best Female Video.
She is also nominated for Best Choreography, and Best Visual Effects for “Where Have You Been” (which had the ladies in our office practicing her dance moves for days) so we’re partial to RiRi winning this one!
Drake was also nominated for Best Hip-Hop Video (“HYFR” with Lil Wayne), Best Male Video (“Take Care”), Best Art Direction (“Take Care”) and Best Cinematography (“Take Care”).
Other strong contenders include Rihanna’s bestie Katy Perry, who was last year’s big winner, who received four nominations.
The show will air live from Los Angeles on September 7th, and will feature a performance from four-time VMA winner Alicia Keys, who will debut a new track at the award show.
