Mary J Blige Speaks Out On Crispy Chicken Wrap Commercial
Mary J Blige has spoken out on the Burger King commercial that portrayed her as a sassy chicken loving diva. “I agreed to be a part of a fun and creative campaign that was supposed to feature a dream sequence,” said Mary to TMZ. “Unfortunately, that’s not what was happening in that clip.” Mary added
The commercial has been pegged as racist and many have called out her manager/husband Kendu, questioning why he would even allow Mary to do such a stereotypical thing such as sing about chicken.
“I understand my fans being upset by what they saw. But, if you’re a Mary fan, you have to know I would never allow an unfinished spot like the one you saw go out.”
