Georgia Police Officer Won’t Face Charges For Shooting An Unarmed Mentally Ill Veteran

Since the victim was naked how could the officer have believed he was in immediate danger?

Dekalb County police officer, Robert Olsen is clear of all charges related to the March 9, 2015 death of Anthony Hill.

According to the Huffington Post, Olsen was responding to reports that a suspicious person was knocking on doors and crawling on the ground naked at an apartment complex in Decatur,GA.

Hill was shot twice in a parking lot when he ran towards the officer and refused to stop. He was unarmed.

Hill’s family members say the 27-year old suffered from bi-polar disorder and the illness had taken control of the former Air Force veteran.

According to NBC, a grand jury “…decided there were too many inconsistencies and contradictions for them to make a recommendation on whether the district attorney should pursue indictment.” However, the grand jury recommended that prosecutors continue to investigate the case, which the district attorney said he would consider.

If Hill were completely naked, how could the officer believe he was in danger? Where would Hill have hidden a weapon? Could he have been tasered? We hope Hill’s family continues to pursue justice in the case.
