In the latest of what is starting to feel like a national cry for help against police brutality, concerned citizens in New York City posted a video of an arrest that happened in Brooklyn last weekend.
Viewer discretion is advised.
In the video captured by an onlooker on his cell phone and posted to his Facebook page, a woman who neighbors say is at least six months pregnant runs out to check on her son, who is mid-arrest and sitting in the street surrounded by police officers. She yells at her son, “Don’t resist! Don’t resist. Throw your hands up.”
Moments later, we see police attempting to handcuff the woman, then shoving her to the ground stomach first. Someone shouts, “Oh my God, she’s pregnant!”
Neighbors say the woman has been experiencing complications since and is expected to speak tomorrow. The Department of Internal Affairs is said to be reviewing the incident.
