The #AskThicke hashtag went hilariously wrong when all of Twitter sank its fangs into Robin Thicke.
Not since #AskDraya have we witnessed a social media campaign backfire on this scale.
In the windup for Robin’s latest album release, Paula, VH1 decided to hold a fan-generated interview for the crooner. A rep for the network prompted, “Have a burning question for @robinthicke? Submit your ?s for tomorrow’s Twitter Q+A using #AskThicke!”

Once beloved for his smooth tunes like “Lost Without You,” Robin has been under a lot of scrutiny since people started noticing the rape-y, misogynistic (if unintentional) undertones of “Blurred Lines.” Add to that the fact that his Paula is his unabashed attempt to win back his estranged wife, Paula Patton, you might see why the former “Real Husbands of Hollywood” star is getting epic amounts of side-eye. Robin’s still got countless of fans, of course, but to many people he’s gone sexy crooner to straight-up creeper.
Perhaps VH1 didn’t take this shifting opinion account when crowd-sourcing questions from social media because what followed was hours of unrelenting shade–and not just from Black Twitter! Scroll down for some of the highlights.

It’s unfortunate that Robin has been opened up to such ridicule, but we can’t understand how anyone thought this was going to end well.
