Breastfeeding Burns 500 Calories A Day
Here’s another reason for new moms to breastfeed…According to a new study, breastfeeding can burn up to 500 calories a day.
This weight-loss boost can translate into other health benefits including a reduced risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, according to the campaign and a recent study published in the American Journal of Medicine.
At least 75% of babies today are breast-fed for some period of time compared with 60% 15 years ago, according to the U.S. News and World Report and just 54% of African-American mothers attempt to breast-feed compared with 74% of white mothers and 80% of Hispanic mothers, according to a recent CDC survey.
