27 year-old Hydeia Broadbent is a crusader for HIV/AIDS prevention.  After contracting HIV from her drug-addicted biological mother, Hydeia has been courageously sharing her own battle with the disease to educate others about the dangers of HIV/AIDS and how to prevent it.  As the co-author of the book “You Can Get Past the Tears,” she has spoken to schools and organizations throughout the world confronting her illness head on and inspiring people of all ages to take their health into their own hands.  Hydeia spends her time spreading the message of HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention, by promoting abstinence, safe-sex practices (for people who choose to have sex), and the initiative “Knowing Your HIV/AIDS Status.”
