Erykah And Artist Donate Portraits For Charity
Artist Steven Lopez dropped by singer Erykah Badu‘s Dallas home to complete the signing of 100 limited-edition portraits of the singer, which will be on sale starting April 15 through After Midnight Soul, part of Lopez’ After Midnight series.
After Midnight is a series of paintings of various singers at their performance best. When he posted a pic of his completed Erykah painting in the comments section of Badu’s website, the two decided to collaborate and sell signed limited paintings, through which a portion of the proceeds will go to Badu’s B.L.I.N.D. (Beautiful Love Incorporated Non-Profit Development), a charity group geared toward inner city youth.
