As much as I repsect the Williams sisters I must say that I respect them as freaks who happen to be disciplined tennis players.

Whether its sexism or racism, the world acts as though these women can’t have a sexual identity. I remember Naritalova was the tennis circuit’s freak of the week.

Venus and her little sister look performs and look very professional in the attire they choose to wear. I am in awe with the angles that photographers choose to shot when these two women are playing. This type of photo-journalism should be avoided and those guilty of capturing such shots demonstrates a typical “gutter mindset” amongst those sniffing out something horrible to report on these two highly talented black African-American women. Hmmm, if I’m watching a sporting event I watch for the sporting EVENT not the fashion.

Dang, I googled a picture on “Volleyball outfits” and they really don’t wear much of anything.

The Williams sisters are trend setters and the powers that be are trying to break them down…same story, different channel.

Just because I respect her game doesn’t mean I have to appreciate her outfit. I think its sexy but the real question is, is it appropriate? I don’t follow enough tennis to say it is not.

Venus and Serena are beautiful without a doubt and their outfits, as long as they’re not out there naked playing, I don’t think it’s really that big of a deal. It’s a game, a sporting event and if they’re comfortable, let ‘em be.

The only reason that they’re garnering this attention is because they’re the dominating force on the courts and not many, including some of our own, like to see Black people on top.

Venus’ outfit is inappropriate for the tennis court, not because they are too risque, but because they are uncomfortable for playing tennis. Tennis is a game that requires strict mental focus. With her having to pull down her dress after every point has to be very distracting. All of that energy is better served in playing points, rather than tugging on her dress.

I don’t think its about bringing down Venus but acknowledging that the outfit simply didnt fit her well. Venus has junk in her trunk. She tugged at that outfit between every volley. How many women can attest to wearing something that simply didnt fit us well and tugging at it trying to “adjust” after every step? Most of us can say yes we have been in that situation. Venus tugged and adjusted the whole game. It would have been better as a jumpsuit so she didnt have to keep pulling it down.

It’s no doubt the sisters have talent but it seem they both feel the only way to get attention beyond their game is by wearing these daring outfit. If the outfit complement you and your game it served it’s purpose. If you have to spend every other moment pulling on it to cover what you know it’s going to show why put it on. This type of attire remind me of the women that have to show the crack of their ass to get a moment of attention. Just wondering if anyone saw Caroline W outfit? Her dress was so short that her shorts showed at all times. Not to mention that her shorts were tight and in her butt crack.
