Congratulations are in order for Keija Minor–the first black Editor-In-Chief at Condé Nast. Minor has cracked open that proverbial glass ceiling by accepting the position as E-I-C of Brides Magazine. Minor announced this position shortly after former E-I-C Anne Fulenwider accepted the same position for Marie Claire.

Condé Nast is a privately owned company that produces 18 magazines like Vanity Fair, Glamour, Vogue, GQ & more–basically all your favorite magazines if you’re a fashion lover. It’s been 103 years since this company started cranking out some of the hottest fashion magazines on the stands. 103 years and NO people of color heading up any of these magazines.

I am so proud of Minor and the ground she’s breaking in media. Black women represent a huge chunk of fashion consumerism and now we can be proud of seeing ourselves represented in mainstream media in a positive way. I’ve got my eye on Minor and you should too!
