Word on the street is, Nicki Minaj broke up with Meek Mill following his release of “Wanna Know,” a diss track aimed at Drake. This bit of information comes from a notoriously questionable source, but it’s not hard to believe given the circumstances.

Long story short, Meek Mill began ranting on twitter last week about Drake using a ghostwriter. The rant was sparked by Drake not tweeting the link to Meek’s album. Drake immediately responded with two diss tracks, and Meek took nearly a week to release his response to lackluster reception. Meek became the laughing stock of Black Twitter, and then Nicki allegedly called it quits shortly after that.

Here’s what the source states:

What caused the BREAKUP . . . and why did it happen LAST NIGHT . . . shortly after Meek Mill’s new diss track FLOPPED?? According to one of Nicki’s BEST FRIENDS, “It’s complicated. I think they took their relationship too far, too fast.” Nicki’s homie REFUSED to say whether the Drake WAR had anything to do with it.

They are said to still be on good terms (split couples always say that), and plan on fulfilling their tour obligations.

If this is true, it wouldn’t be surprising if the war had anything to do with it. This whole situation was just silly. The scenario that  could make sense is that Nicki cautioned Meek against this and he did it anyway, which shows a lot of immaturity on his part. Perhaps Nicki was then like, nah, son.

Meanwhile, there has been no followup from Drake or Meek, but the latter is still being slandered to the high heavens.

That would suck though. Meek ethers himself, and then his girlfriend calls it quits. Womp wompington.
