Kimora Lee Simmons is reaching deep in her pockets to give young fashionistas a leg up on their professional game.

The recently married style mogul told Vogue that she’s launched a $1 million scholarship for students that want to pursue a career in fashion! The fund will support scholarships at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM), the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and Rush Teens.

With a haute couture modeling career that kicked off when she was just 13 years old, Kimora has lived a fabulous life. But she said that this scholarship is facilitating some opportunities that even she didn’t have.

“This is like wish-fulfillment on my end, to tap into that formal education,” said Kimora. “I never had someone put money into my career or my business—it’s very tough out there, and it will never get any easier!”

Aside from donating a few coins to pay for school, the scholarship will also offer a chance to work directly with Kimora. Students will have an opportunity to work as an intern for her KLS Collection, giving Kimora a chance to nurture even more talent.

“For me, there’s so many young people who I feel like don’t have a voice,” Kimora said. “I hope these scholarships will give access to that untapped talent, to tell the next Jason Wu, Alexander Wang, or Narciso Rodriguez that we believe in them.”
