Despite how perfect I think Beyonce is, she’s not and she admits that on her new album. There’s an interlude on the album, where she has Ed McMahon announcing the winner, when she and the rest of her girl group, Girl’s Tyme appeared on the show. They girls didn’t win. Beyonce wanted this on the album because she wanted people to know the importance of getting knocked down, to get back up:
“I thought of this performance which was a really defining moment in my life as a child. In my mind, we would perform on Star Search, we would win and we would get a record deal. It’s no way in the world I would have ever imagined losing as a possibility. I was only 9 years old. At that time you don’t realize that you can work super hard and give everything you have and lose. It was the best message for me.”
“I feel like something about the aggression of “Bow Down” and the attitude of “Flawless,” the reality is sometimes you lose. You’re never too good to lose, you’re never too big to lose, you’re never too smart to lose. It happens. And it happens when it needs to happen and you need to embrace those things.”
And then there’s precious moments with Blue Ivy. Be ready to swoon:
*Spoiler Alert* By the end of the video, there’s definitely going to be a Part 3.
I am here for this, especially if they delve into exactly who “Yonce” is and why is she sooooo overtly sexual?
