Black women are the pioneers when it comes to creative hairstyles.

Thanks to the bill's co-sponsors Rep. Leslie Herod, Rep. Janet Buckner and Sen. Rhonda Fields, Black people in the state will no longer be punished for how they wear their hair.

Thanks to Gov. Ralph Northam, Virginia, the only Southern state to ban natural hair discrimination, joins California, New York and New Jersey.
