Dear Gay Best Friend,

I feel very weird for doing this but I just need to know. I am 23-years old and I have a 5-year old son with my first and only boyfriend. We are no longer together after only two and a half years of dating. I have had no other boyfriend since then. I have tried getting new relationships but all I am hearing is that I am a good woman and that my son’s father didn’t know what he had. Yet, these guys continue to walk away.

I don’t understand if I am called a good woman then why do these guys disappear and have no reasons for doing so. They tell me I have a good heart and I have even had a few tell me that I deserve someone better than them (Which I think is a load of crap). I’ve tried the single life and it’s not for me. I love to take care of and please people. I don’t really care to go clubbing and hanging out; unless it’s with my son, or if I do have a guy friend, which is hardly ever. I would just like to get a good opinion on why I don’t have a relationship. I am so confused. If I could get just one good reason that I can deal with then I am okay. So here it is. I am asking you. Even when my hopes are up and I think I have found a guy, something happens. So what could it be? – I Want A Relationship

“My Ex-Man Was Into Transsexuals!”

Dear I Want A Relationship,

Honey, I personally don’t think there is anything wrong with you. Obviously there is something wrong the guys. If you keep meeting all these men and they all tell you that you’re a good woman, with a good heart, and that you deserve someone better than them, then girl, be happy! It’s their loss, not yours.

In my new book, Straight From Your Gay Best Friend, (it drops October 5th), I explain that every man is not relationship material. Be glad you didn’t get involved with these knuckleheads and you find out six months, or a year later that he is no-good, trifling, and a serial cheater. Girl, I know so many women who settle in their relationships because they are so desperate to be with a man and now they are miserable. They feel stuck. Yet, they won’t leave the relationship because they have invested time, money, energy, and resources and they don’t want another woman to benefit from all the work they did for him. A pure hot mess!

But, I am curious as to why you keep attracting these duds. Well, I know one reason is that darkness is attracted to the light. But, other than that, maybe, just maybe you need to change your mindset and your thoughts. What you think of you will manifest. Stop focusing on why you can’t find a man, and focus on the plethora of men who are available, because Ms. Girl, there is a plethora of them that are available. And, they are FINE, FINE, FINE! These men are open to being in a relationship. They can share their emotions, and express their feelings. They are not intimidated by you and your goodness. Honey, you better get up, get out, and get something!

Listen, Ms. I Want A Relationship, I strongly suggest that you sit, be still, and be patient (something else I talk about in my new book, Straight From Your Gay Best Friend). If you’re patient, and wait for the man for you, there will be no mistaking him when he shows up. He will love you for you. He will have no excuses, nor will he say, “You’re a good woman with a good heart, and you deserve better than me.” You know what, sucker, you’re damn right. I deserve way much better than you. Why would you want to be with some lame, and some loser who thinks of you as too good? So what type of woman does he want? Chile, miss me.

Look here, honey, keep enjoying yourself and your son. Live life and have fun. Celebrate you. Love you and the man for you will show up and you’ll definitely be able to recognize him, as he will recognize and appreciate all the woman that you are! – Straight From Your Gay Best Friend
