It seems as though we’ve been waiting forever for the final video version of the hit song, “Monster” to be released. After months of twiddling our thumbs, sneak peaks, and speculation that the video was banned from television networks, Mr. West has finally released the director’s cut to the video.
The song features Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, Jay Z and of course Kanye.
The unedited version of the video received much backlash as Kanye was accused of being violent towards women because while in the video he is surrounded by dead models, zombies and monsters in a haunted house.
When I first saw the video, being “disrespectful to women” wasn’t the first thing that popped in my head. Creepy… yes, but disrespectful…. no. You be the judge if this final version is seen as disrespectful and violent towards women, or if people are simply overreacting and making a big deal out of nothing (which seems to be happening quite often lately in the music industry).
