Life will never be the same. 2020 is the year we watched everything we knew spontaneously combust and leave us with a broom to pick up all the pieces. Yet, here we are celebrating the holidays as best we can because gosh, we deserve it. Aside from the stress, the holidays always remind us to be grateful for loved ones. If there’s anything we’ve learned since the pandemic, it’s to cherish your family and friends. We’re clinging to hope that Christmas also marks the end of a grueling year. And an excuse to get dressed up and put on makeup even if it’s in the living room.

As always, we thank you for rocking with us!

The holidays aren’t the same this year. And that’s OK. This is what I tell myself to get me through the day when I think about finances, furloughs and the entire disaster that has been 2020. But even in the dark times, there’s some twinkle from the lights on the Christmas tree. When I look at my baby girl, who is celebrating her first Christmas home after being in the hospital for six months after her birth, I am reminded this pandemic has challenged us for good and bad. We had nowhere to go but within to self-reflect. We became resourceful while discovering new strength. As hard as it’s been, I’m trying to allow myself to enjoy the holidays because who doesn’t need an injection of joy right now? I wish you all a happy holiday.

This Christmas marks the end of an interesting year. I can honestly say I haven’t been in the holiday spirit this time around and that’s because the world is suffering. Still, I’ve been working overtime to channel positive energy. I am grateful to be healthy, I am happy to be alive, and I am so appreciative for family. The circumstances of this year have forced me to live in gratitude. Like Thanksgiving, this Christmas is undoubtedly different for us all. No matter what your situation is, please find time to be thankful for the little things. If you had difficulty breathing because of the virus, take a deep breath and thank the Universe for allowing you to fill your lungs with air. Keep the circle of gratitude going in your life. To anyone who has lost a loved one, a job, or suffered mental unrest because of Covid, I send you nothing but love and peace. Give yourself a big hug for powering through a challenging year, and being alive to talk about it.

Happy Holidays!
