After comedian Lil Duval appeared on an episode of ‘The Breakfast Club’ spewing dangerous, transphobic comments, the backlash fell on host Charlamagne Tha God‘s shoulders.
Even though Charlamagne was a bystander to the lewd remarks, Rolling Stone picked up the story pegging him as the perpetrator.
Rolling Stone released an article on July 31st titled, “Janet Mock On Charlemagne the God’s Transphobic Comments,” which immediately caught the attention of Charlemagne’s legal team.
According to TMZ, the radio host sent a letter to Rolling Stone threatening legal action against the publication for defamation.
In the fall out, both Rolling Stone and Charlemagne have settled their differences by donating money to The National Black Justice Coalition.
In a joint statement, Charlemagne & Rolling Stone said, “We hope this gesture brings more attention to the very important issue of equal rights and treatment of the LGBTQ community.”
