An 11-year-old girl is in stable condition after her friend poured boiling hot water on her, ABC reports.
The assault took place on Findlay Avenue in the Bronx.
Jamoneisha Merritt was hosting a sleep over in her family’s apartment when her 12-year-old friend, Aniya Grant Stuart, poured water on her around 4am.
The girl was asleep on the couch at the time of the incident. She was rushed to Harlem Hospital with serious burns.
She’s currently in stable condition.
Tensions between the girl’s mothers came to a head when Ebony Merritt, the mother of the victim, confronted the attacker’s mother, Shernett Panton, outside her home.
“I’m going to cut your face, you f—ing b—h!” Merritt screamed at Panton. “I’m going to burn your f—ing house down! You let this happen to my daughter!”
Aniya is reportedly being charged in juvenile court. According to reports, the 12-year-old attacker is currently under suicide watch at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center after trying to stab herself with a knife after the incident.
