Jay Z and Weinstein Company are partnering to make a documentary series about Trayvon Martin and his tragic death.

According to Variety, the two won a heated bidding war for the rights to “Suspicion Nation: The Inside Story of the Trayvon Martin Injustice and Why We Continue to Repeat It” written by Lisa Bloom, who covered the case for NBC and “Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin” by his parents Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin.

The plan is to make a six-part docu-series with Jay Z serving as producer.

The rapper isn’t new to creating social justice docs. His The Kalief Browder Story is currently airing on Spike TV.

As we know, in 2012 Trayvon Martin was shot to death by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in a gated community in Sandford, Florida. Martin’s death helped spark the Black Lives Matter Movement.
