Black-ish actress Yara Shahidi stars in the latest Mane Muse editorial for Made Addicts, a website focused on all things hair. The editorial features Yara in a series of beauty shots featuring the oh-so-fabulous hair line. The message? Go big! Go long. Get your life with these bundles.
Yara posted a beautiful profile image, with her hair slicked into a sleek ponytail with a bushy wave pushing at least 22″. She’s wearing a red, sleeveless Jill Stuart ensemble styled by Ade Samuel (who is giving Yara look after LEWK). Her voluminous hair for this shoot is by celebrity hairstylist César DeLeön Ramirêz, the Global Artistic Director for L’Oreal. To get this look, he sectioned her hair and placed it into a tight ponytail using Mizani Foam Wrap. He then added 2 bundles of Indique Pure Curly hair, brushing it out to achieve volume. He tamed those edges using Mizani Edge Taming Gel. If you don’t want to spend as much on your edge gel, go for Lotta Body ‘Control Me’ Edge Gel.
Another shot, the beauty is pictured in a blue fur with the light cascading over her face and fierce curls fanned out. Cesar started with damp hair and used damp extensions to allow both hair to fuse together when dry. He created the shape using a ghd paddle brush. We’ve been using Kim Kimble’s Natural Bamboo Paddle Brush. By brushing the curl, he achieved a fluffly feel and edgy look perfect for a high fashion hair editorial.
The beauty talks hair with Mane Addicts, revealing that she’s gone almost a year with no heat in her curls. Wow! While she may look like #hairgoals, she’s had her fair struggle, “Being an actress, many times our hair is overworked, so it has been rewarding learning how to care for my curls whenever, wherever.” Her daily hair routine consists of using Deva Curl Light Defining Gel along with Mielle Organics Mint Almond Oil.
The 16-year-old actress talks a lot about her hair future and is longing for blue hair, “I am strategically waiting to put some electric blue in my hair!” She lusts for the color, mentioning it again later in the article. Who would she trade hair with? She answers, “Janelle Monae. Her buffonts are iconic.”
What a beautiful shoot! Check out the entire interview, here.
We love to see Yara putting that modeling contract to work!
