OWN Hosts A Private New York Screening Of 'Queen Sugar'

The cast of ‘Queen Sugar’ has a lot to celebrate. The groundbreaking show made rating history upon its debut on OWN and was recently renewed for season two.

The Ava Duvernay directed production is a harmonious blend of TV and film, highlighted by stellar acting and even more intricate story lines.

But ‘Queen Sugar’ is more than just a Wednesday night pastime when Friday seems so far, it is a game-changer for Black actors who’ve struggled to find work and Black viewers who’ve rarely see their stories brought to life.

We caught up with Kofi Siriboe, Rutina Wesley, Dawn-Lyen Gardner, Nicholas L. Ashe, Dondre Whitfield and Timon Kyle Durrett during a recent press luncheon and discussed the show’s success and much more.
