Uh Oh! Atlanta Public School System Reprimands #TeacherBae
Patrice Brown, aka #TeacherBae, has come under fire for her formfitting clothing, not only from her Twitter critics, but from the Atlanta Public School System.
According to 11Alive News, the APS released a statement stating Brown was a “paraprofessional employed” — which means she assists the teacher — and under their dress code and the Georgia Code of Ethics for educators, Brown has been “given guidance regarding the APS Employee Dress Code, the use of social media. However, she has been cooperative in addressing her presence on social media,” they concluded.
Time will only tell if she shows up to school wearing a muumuu.
Leaked Emails Show Colin Powell Hates Donald Trump
Due to recent email leaks linked to Russia, it was revealed that Former Secretary of State Colin Powell had some harsh words for Donald Trump.
According to Buzzfeed, the retired four-star general said in a 2016 email that the Republican presidential nominee was “a national disgrace,” “international pariah,” and he “is in the process of destroying himself, no need for Dems to attack him. (Speaker of the House) Paul Ryan is calibrating his position again.”
In a 2015 note, he also said, “Yup, the whole birther movement was racist. That’s what the 99 percent believe. When Trump couldn’t keep that up he said he also wanted to see if the certificate noted that he was a Muslim.”
Another email to CNN anchor Fareed Zakaria stated Powell hated talking about the GOP nominee in public, saying, “You guys are playing his game, you are his oxygen. He outraged us again today with his comments on Paris no-go for police districts. I will watch and pick the timing, not respond to the latest outrage.”
Mom Blames Daughter’s Suicide On University For Not Investigating Rape
A mother of a New Jersey student said her daughter killed herself because William Paterson University did not support her daughter and investigate her rape claims.
According the New York Daily News, Cherelle Locklear was found dead in her dorm bathroom last November, two months after she was raped. In the lawsuit, her mother, Marquesa Jackson-Locklear, said her daughter was attacked at a fraternity house and the school refused to engage in a “investigation required by law.”
It’s been also been reported Cherelle attempted suicide in October before she spoke to campus administrator Theresa Bivaletz and told her about the rape. Yet the police were not told of the assault and the accused rapist was never questioned by police or disciplined by the school.
The lawsuit also states the college, the president, other employees at the school as well as the police are responsible for the 21-year-old’s death.
